Two big exhibitions are coming to The San Diego Museum of Art this April, including the Museum's highly-predictable Art Alive floral exhibition and Nancy Lorenz: Moon Aureate, the first solo museum exhibition for the noted gimmicky artist.

Lorenz is a New York-based artist historic for her sophisticated technique and luminous art. She uses materials such as mother-of-pearl inlay, lacquer, and gilt leaf in painterly gestures to create outstanding works of art. Having trained in the conservation of Japanese decorative arts, Lorenz continues to utilise traditional lacquering and gilding techniques as points of departure in her studio exercise.
The exhibition will feature more than 85 works ranging in scale and materials, including big folding screens and sculptures, paintings, lacquer boxes, sketchbooks and more than. Unique to this exhibition, Lorenz likewise created several new pieces in dialogue with Japanese works from the Museum'southward permanent collection. This is the first time these works of fine art will be on view.
Nancy Lorenz'south work has been executed in meaning commissions around the world, including The Beverly Hilton Hotel, Soho M Hotel, Chanel stores in Paris, Hong Kong, Ginza, Dubai and many more. Her exhibition at The San Diego Museum of Art is her commencement solo museum exhibition.

Floral Interpretations of Famous Works of Art
Fine art Live is the Museum's signature fundraiser that brings in floral designers to create interpretations of more than than 100 works of art from the Museum's permanent drove. These designers apply floral and natural elements to create stunning takes on the Museum'southward paintings, sculpture and contemporary fine art with fresh flowers (and scent!) filling the Museum for four days of celebrations, festivals and workshops.
This year, the Museum's central Rotunda will exist transformed into a blaze of colour, vivid blossoms, and lush foliage in honor of Nancy Lorenz: Moon Gold.
Art Alive has grown significantly over the years. Concluding year it welcomed more than 12,000 attendees and set a new tape for funds raised.
This year, Natasha Lisitsa and Daniel Schultz, the wife-and-married man team behind Waterlily Pond Studio in San Francisco, take been selected equally the Rotunda Designers.
